ABOUT FORESIGHT PSYCHOLOGY

Foresight Psychology is a Sydney-based psychology practice dedicated to supportive and effective psychological care. We believe in offering evidence-based psychological treatment that is affordable and accessible to all, no matter your background or situation. Foresight Psychology was founded by Dr Erika Penney in 2015 with the aim of building a warm and welcoming psychology practice that offered clients personalised and efficacious therapy. The current directors, Dr Amy Burton and Dr Andreea Heriseanu, and the team of talented Foresight psychologists continue with this goal today.

Foresight Psychology is a small private practice, and we are located in a no-frills office building in Ultimo which is conveniently close to public transport – making our practice accessible for our clients. All Foresight Psychology clinicians are warm, approachable and friendly, while also being highly trained and skilled qualified psychologists. We are proud of our therapy rooms which are set up for comfort and privacy making them the perfect space for effective psychological therapy to take place.

At Foresight Psychology, we see a range of presentations and each of our clinicians have their own special interests (see Meet the Team for more information). With specialised postgraduate training in advanced clinical or counselling skills, all of our Foresight psychologists can assist if you are experiencing anxiety, stress, low mood, depression, sleeping difficulties, low self-esteem, interpersonal difficulties, having trouble breaking bad habits, procrastination, low motivation, or poor body image. Many of our Foresight psychologists also have advanced training and interest in working with parenting interventions, adolescent mental health, OCD, adult ASD, chronic pain, complex trauma, childhood trauma, personality disorders, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder – check in with our administrator Kate to ensure you are booking in with the right psychologist.

Foresight Psychology offers a welcoming and accepting space and aims to positively contribute towards eliminating discrimination in health services. We embrace diversity in culture, ethnicity, faith, lifestyle choice, sexual orientation, gender and neurodiversity. We are proud to be a LGBTIQA+ friendly practice.

Foresight Psychology acknowledges the traditional owners of the land on which we practice, the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. We pay our respects to Aboriginal Elders past, present and emerging.

FORESIGHT PSYCHOLOGY PRACTICE

At our private psychology practice on the edge of Sydney’s CBD we offer individual, family, and relationship therapy for a range of adult, child and adolescent presentations. We are committed to ongoing professional development and utilise evidence-based psychological treatments (including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, trauma-informed care, Interpersonal Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy and psychodynamic-informed psychotherapies). We believe in taking the time to really understand a client’s experience before finding the right fit in terms of support and treatment. Your Foresight psychologist will work collaboratively with you to help you to effectively overcome the current problems you may be experiencing.

We also offer psychological support and evidence-based treatments via telehealth for those unable to make it into our practice. Please see the Telehealth e-Clinic page for more information about our range of online video conference and telephone psychological services.

Dr Amy Burton is a board-approved clinical supervisor and offers affordable supervision to provisional and registrar psychologists. Members of the Foresight Psychology team are experienced in the delivery of training workshops, workplace wellness training and lectures on mental health, counselling skills, and clinical psychology.
